1. Ferrite or ceramic magnets are still the most widely used magnets with a maximum energy
product of 1 to ± 4.3 MGOe.
2. Due to the environmental requirements which are becoming more stringent barium ferrite
has been replaced by strontium ferrite during the last years.
3. Ferrite is the cheapest magnetic material and has a high corrosion resistance making
coating unnecessary.
4. This magnetic material is hard and fragile and must be processed with diamond, preferably
when it is not in a magnetic state.
